UWA Grand Challenges Summit 2022: Equitable solutions to unmet health needs workshop  

The summit will facilitate an innovation workshop focussed on the Biodesign process to identify unmet clinical needs and develop solutions to these problems.

Suitable for high school & university students, community members, academics and industry professionals, this event will feature a case study of a WA start-up company, called EarBuddy, and will involve hands-on coaching with real-life patient scenarios.

This event is to be held at The University Club of Western Australia on Wednesday 23rd Feb from 10:45am – 12:15pm followed by a networking lunch. Read more and register here for free.

iPREP Biodesign: Seeking PhD students & industry partners for April 2022 intake

The iPREP Biodesign program places multidisciplinary teams of PhD candidates into progressive businesses to work on industry-defined projects. Students also receive weekly training on Biodesign methodology and professional skills and a scholarship package.

With seven week or three month placements available, applications are open for both industry partners and PhD students until the 23rd February. Read more and apply here.  

February Biodesign Bootcamp: Only a few spots left

This February, participants will explore the entire Biodesign process with two full day intensives. From need identification to solution implementation, participants will build foundational knowledge to begin their own entrepreneurial journey or to upskill current practice. Registrations are still open, though are limited due to course popularly. Biointelect Venturer Workshop 2022: Australia-wide and visiting Perth

This series of workshops is run in partnership with BiointelectARCS Australia and Biodesign Australia, subsidised by the REDI initiative powered by MTPConnect. The one-day workshop will provide an understanding of available funding models and investment environments to ensure participants are partner and investor ready. The workshop is best suited to those who are developing a medicine, medical device, biologic or medical software / digital health technology. Read more and register here.

Digital Health Course is full steam ahead for 2022

Perth Biodesign for Digital Health participants are gearing up for their kick-off event this February, marking the start of a four-month innovation journey in digital health. Placed in multidisciplinary teams, participants will work to create a digital health prototype solution for an unmet clinical need, under the expert guidance of our course directors, business and technology mentors and partner, Skills of the Modern Age.
